Gryffindor is a semi portrait of Ranellucci, son of the Elite Hanoverian stallion, Regazzoni and the champion (tie) colt of the 2004 AHS inspection. I particuliarly liked his big floating stride, sloping shoulder and his striking head confirmation, including the smart bump between his eyes which I have often found to indicate a horse with a bit of extra intelligence and curiousity, making a very trainable and wonderful competition horse.
I decided that Gryffindor needed some reworking after his initial completion. Gryffindor the REMIX all started with redoing his tail so it is lighter and more animated. Then I moved on and did some refining to his head details, including veining. I re-sculpted and re-positioned both his left legs (note the foreleg is now off the ground) and refined the cannon area on all the legs, adding a few tendons and ligaments. He has more defined muscles overall especially in the neck/shoulder area. I also decided to give him more of that goose rump as this colt is destined for the jumper ring!
Ranelucci, the inspiration
